Thanks to Tom Schorr from Wells Print
& Digital, our host for the WMLL website, we are now able to
bring you a slide presentation of the actual construction of the
Major and Senior diamonds at WMLL back in 1964. Tom was
able to work with You Tube and convert our Power Point
presentation into a video for viewing over the internet.
The slides in the presentation were donated to WMLL by Art
Peterson, former WMLL Board President and District 4 Little
League Administrator.

***More Major Sponsors Emerge for Challenger
Program***
UPDATE April, 2013:
The Madison Area Sports Commission approved a grant
request of $2500 in support of the 2013 Challenger Lg.
First Business Bank is also back with another $1000 donation
for 2013.
TDS stepped up with a $1000 donation
for 2012 and Kara Deans (mother of Challenger player
Noah) has directed her United Way donation to the
Challenger program in 2012. Also, the doctors at Melius, Schurr
& Cardwell Women's Clinic stepped up to the plate with another
$1000 sponsorship for 2012. Kayser Ford has also
come on Board with a $200 donation for 2012. And, the folks at
Communications Innovations, a pediatric therapy center,
joined the $1000 club for 2011 and are considering
another donation for 2013.
MANY THANKS to
all our sponsors!!! The
first four seasons (2009 thru 2012) of the Challenger league
for children with disabilities were a GREAT SUCCESS!!
The league was covered by
WMTV
Chanel 15 and was featured on the front page of
The
Wisconsin State Journal!
Enrollment in the
Challenger League increased up to 36 children in 2011
but dipped to 34 in 2012 due to some of our regular
players recovering from surgery. We wish them all
well and hope to see them back in 2013.
We speak quite often
about the role sports can play in forming a lifetime of
memories, friendships and the teaching of life's
lessons. To think that this small experience,
shared by Athlete Katy Goldschmidt and Buddy Danny
Zimmerman during West Madison Little League's inaugural
Challenger Division season could have such an impact on
this young man's life, is awesome!
