2018 WMLL Home Run Derby raises more than $1000 for cancer research!

This year’s event featured 37 competitors & raised $1004 for research!

The 8th Annual WMLL Home Run Derby was held on October 14 to raise money for the Madison Chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to fund research for a cure for blood cancers.

2018 HR Derby Champions:

Baseball Divisions:
Grade School (11-14 years-old): Abram O’Rourke
High School 14-18 years-old): Steve Callahan (won tie breaker)
Younger Adult (18-35 years-old): Jason McFeely
Older Adult (36+ years-old): Jay Williams

Softball Divisions (females only):
Youth (11‐18 years-old): no competitors
Adult (18+ years old): Megan McElgunn

This annual event was started in 2011 by former WMLL player, Marco Mascitti.  Marco’s dad, Jason, a former WMLL coach and sponsor, is a double survivor having successfully battled leukemia and lymphoma.
