WMLL wins Senior League Central Region Tournament championship to earn a berth at the Senior League Baseball World Series.
West Madison Little League’s 2019 Senior League all-star team won the Senior League Central Region Tournament on July 24 and now advances to the Senior League Baseball World Series. This is the sixth time that a West Madison Little League Senior League all-star team has represented the Central Region in to Little League International’s Senior League Baseball World Series – 1967, 1971, 1977, 2006 and 2009 being the other years.
The Senior League Baseball World Series is in Easley, SC from July 27 through August 3. The competition includes six United States teams from Little League International’s Central (West Madison Little League), East, Southeast, Southwest, West and host South Carolina District 1 regions as well as six international teams from Little League International’s Asia-Pacific, Australia, Canada, Caribbean, Europe-Africa and Latin America regions. Little League’s Senior Division is for 13-16-year-old players.
The West Madison Little League team earned a spot in the Senior League Central Region Tournament as the Wisconsin representative by winning the 2019 Wisconsin State Tournament championship on July 15. Other teams competing in the Senior League Central Region Tournament were Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio. The tournament was held in Peru, IL from July 20 through 24.
