The West Madison Little League Annual Meeting took place on Saturday, October 26 at Vitense Golfland.
Here is a brief summary of the meeting as well as next steps for WMLL’s new Board of Directors and a call for volunteers.
ANNUAL MEETING DISCUSSION
After calling the meeting to order, Tom Heneghan, the 2018-2019 Board president, provided a year-in-review update and Bruce Perchik, the 2018-2019 Board Treasurer, gave a financial report. Following these presentations, an informative open-forum discussion took place during which members at the meeting asked questions, gave feedback & shared ideas on many aspects of WMLL’s baseball & softball programs.
BOARD ELECTION & RESULTS
As the final order of business, elections were held for the five open Board seats after all nominees provided a brief introduction & candidate statement. The five Board members elected consist of three returning Board members – Kraig Bodie, Todd Conkey, Mark Schauder, and two first-time Board members – Sean Michael Dargan & Fern Knepp. Congratulations to all five newly elected Board members.
RETURNING BOARD MEMBERS
The WMLL Board of Directors consists of 15-members elected to 3-year terms. The ten returning Board members are Scott Fossum, Tom Heneghan, Frank Lenoch, Bruce Perchik & Jerry Schmitt (with terms that end next year) & Michele Gassman, Harry Miller, Mark Newburg, Robb Vogel & Barry Vredenbregt (with terms that expire in 2021).

NEXT BOARD MEETING
The next Board meeting will be held on Sunday, November 10 at the Midtown Police Station (4020 Mineral Point Road). The main focus of this meeting will be determining Board member duties and responsibilities for the upcoming year.
INVITATION TO VOLUNTEER!
It takes a lot of planning and work, both at and away from the field, to make WMLL the special place that it is and to provide our players with everything they need to grow and have fun. There are MANY ways to volunteer at WMLL besides being a Board member, coach or team rep. Volunteer needs include single-day, single-season, flexible duration & year-long opportunities…almost all of which do not require any special knowledge of baseball/softball rules or skills. Please contact Brian Beutter at brian.beutter@gmail.com to learn more about volunteering at WMLL & to find an opportunity that matches up with your schedule, interests & skills.
