The 2021 WMLL Annual Meeting took place on Saturday, October 23 via Zoom.
Here is a brief summary of the meeting as well as next steps for WMLL’s new Board of Directors and a call for volunteers.
ANNUAL MEETING DISCUSSION
After calling the meeting to order, Todd Conkey, the 2020-2021 Board president, provided a year-in-review update. After that, Chris Jillings, the 2020-2021 Board treasurer, gave the financial report. BOARD ELECTION & RESULTS
As the final order of business, elections were held for the seven open Board seats – five open 3-year seats created by the completion of five board members’ terms and two open 1-year seats created by the resignation of two Board members. The seven Board members elected consist of three returning Board members – Harry Miller, Mark Newburg & Robb Vogel and four first-time Board members – Nadeem Afghan, Andrew Hahn, Laura Swisher & Mark Wochos. Mark Newburg & Andrew Hahn will fill the two 1-year seats.

RETURNING BOARD MEMBERS
The WMLL Board of Directors consists of 15-members elected to 3-year terms. The eight returning Board members are Kraig Bodie, Nate Judnic & Mark Schauder (with terms that expire in October 2022) & Joan Farrell, Scott Fossum, Tom Heneghan, Chris Jillings & Jerry Schmitt (with terms that end in October 2023).

OFFICER ELECTION & RESULTS
Immediately after the Annual Meeting, the new Board met to elect the 2021-2022 Board officers. Jerry Schmitt was elected President, Robb Vogel VP-Baseball, Scott Fossum VP-Softball & Chris Jillings Treasurer.

INVITATION TO VOLUNTEER!
It takes a lot of planning and work, both at and away from the field, to make WMLL the special place that it is and to provide our players with everything they need to grow and have fun. There are MANY ways to volunteer at WMLL besides being a Board member, coach or team rep. Volunteer needs include single-day, single-season, flexible duration & year-long opportunities…almost all of which do not require any special knowledge of baseball/softball rules or skills.
