WMLL, founded in 1959, is proud to provide baseball and softball leagues for boys and girls aged 7-16 with two seasons of play, first-class playing fields, and a family-friendly ballpark. In a typical year, over 1,000 boys and girls play on ~90 teams in more than 700 games during WMLL’s spring/summer and fall seasons of play.  WMLL’s mission is to provide supportive high-quality baseball and softball programs, welcoming to all, where players have fun, improve their skills, and learn important life lessons.

Executive Director Position

The Executive Director is a year-round, less than full-time salaried position with greater demands during the months of November, December, February, March, April, June, July and August.  Work hours are flexible, but, at times, will include evenings, holidays, and weekends.  The salary is competitive, given the seasonal nature of the job, and paid out over 12 months.  Healthcare benefits are not available.

The Executive Director is responsible for providing overall management and leadership in conducting WMLL programs and implementing Board plans, while acting in a manner consistent with WMLL’s mission and goals.  The Executive Director also manages the Head Groundskeeper and the Concessions Manager.

Concession Stand Assistant Manager & Staff

Working in WMLL’s concession stand is a great opportunity for anyone 16 years of age or older (adults included) looking for a fun way to earn money in a pleasant, friendly environment.  Pay for part-time staff begins at $12/hour & at $15/hour for the assistant manager – with a potential increase for candidates with the right experience/availability.

No previous food service experience is necessary and all needed training will be provided on the job.  Work shifts are available on weekday evenings from 4 to 9-10 PM & on weekends during both WMLL’s spring/summer (late April thru mid-July) & fall (late August thru mid-October) seasons.

Ground Crew Staff

Working on WMLL’s ground crew is a fantastic opportunity for anyone 18 years of age or older interested or experienced in field, turf and/or facility management. The position works as part of a grounds crew to improve and maintain WMLL’s three playing fields and ballpark common areas. Crew members work under the general supervision of WMLL’s head groundskeeper Torrie Lindner,

This position typically pays $13-15/hour depending on experience/availability & can be performed in either a part-time or full-time capacity.  Individuals must be able to work weekends and be flexible with hours as they vary depending on the season and weather.  Some overtime work can be expected and requests to schedule work around school or other commitments will be considered.

WMLL welcomes new Concessions Manager Kathleen Schauder!

WMLL is thrilled to have Kathleen (O’Leary) Schauder as our new Concessions Manager! Kathleen takes over the position from Jenny Luna, who worked in the position for ten years.
A BIG WMLL thank you to Jenny, & her husband Antonio, for their dedication & amazing service to WMLL!

Kathleen grew up in Madison and has been a part of WMLL since she was a kid – her brother was a player, her dad a coach, her mom helped start the concession stand, & Kathleen helped her work in the concession stand.  Things have come full circle now…Kathleen has two sons, Gavin & Wyatt, who have played baseball at WMLL and her husband Mark coaches. Away from WMLL, Kathleen is a computer and library teacher & worked at Babe’s as the banquet manager for 16 years until it closed.
