In addition to regular season and league tournament games, WMLL also forms & fields “all-star” baseball teams at the Little League Age 10, 11, 12, Junior & Senior levels to prepare for & compete in the official Little League (District / State / Regional / World Series) tournament series.
- These “District” teams provide an extra optional opportunity for interested spring/summer season players and coaches. Participation on a tournament teams is not guaranteed – players must tryout & be selected.
- The “District” teams only compete in the official Little League tournament series – they will no longer play in any other tournaments.
- There is no “District” team opportunity for WMLL softball.
TOURNAMENTS
The baseball “District” teams will compete only in the official Little League (District / State / Regional / World Series) tournament series.
- Only the District Tournament champions advance to the State Tournament…although the host District for the State Tournament may also be able to advance their District Tournament runner-up teams to the State Tournament.
- State Champions at 12U/Majors, Juniors, and Seniors advance to Regionals, and only Regional Champions advance to a World Series.
- 10U and 11U competition ends with the State Tournament.
“DISTRICT” TEAM COACHING
“District” teams are coached by spring/summer season coaches approved by the WMLL Board of Directors.
May 1 (Sun): Deadline for tournament team coach applications (submit answers to THESE questions to the appropriate League Coordinator)
May 8 (Sun): Tournament team coach selection (at Board meeting)

TOURNAMENT TEAM PLAYER SELECTION
Players are selected by the “District” team coach based on a combination of voting by players & coaches in the player’s league, a team tryout, “District” team coach evaluations based on regular season games, and/or player evaluations provided by other head coaches in their league. Team rosters must be approved by the WMLL Board of Directors.
May 9-14: 10U baseball “District” team balloting
May 9-14: 11U & 12U baseball “District” team balloting
May 9-14: Junior baseball “District” team balloting
Date TBD: Senior baseball “District” team balloting
May 15-21: 10U baseball “District” team tryouts
May 15-21: 11U baseball “District” team tryouts

PLAYER PARTICIPATION FEES
Players selected to a “District” team are required to pay a participation fee to help defray the costs of tournament entry fees, uniforms, supplemental insurance & other expenses. WMLL support is available to families in need of financial assistance.
