Fall Ball eligibility & age determination

WMLL uses eligibility requirements for Fall Ball that are different than those used for the spring/summer season.

No residency or school requirements exist for Fall Ball.  While Fall Ball is primarily organized to support the needs of the WMLL community, players not living or attending school within the WMLL regular season boundary area (high school attendance area for Madison West, Madison Memorial and Middleton-Cross Plains) are welcome to register and will be placed on teams based on space availability.

Since Fall Ball has a developmental focus, players are placed into Fall Ball leagues based upon what their Little League age will be for the next spring/summer season.  WMLL adheres to the “Age Determination Date” requirements established by Little League, Inc.  These requirements are different for baseball & softball.

Baseball: Boys & girls that will be Little League aged 7 to 16 for the 2019 spring/summer season are eligible to play fall baseball at WMLL.  A player’s age as of August 31, 2019 will be that player’s Little League age for the 2019 spring/summer season & is thus that player’s age for the 2018 Fall Ball season.  (see reference chart here)

Softball: Girls that will be Little League aged 7 to 18 for the 2019 spring/summer season are eligible to play fall baseball at WMLL.  A player’s age as of December 31, 2018 will be that player’s Little League age for the 2019 spring/summer season & is thus that player’s age for the 2018 Fall Ball season.

Each league will have a separate maximum capacity.  Once leagues are full, late registrants may choose to be placed on a waiting list in the order their registrations were received (for a $5 non-refundable processing fee).
