Board of Director Duties

Interested in a WMLL Board Position?  

Your Little League organization needs dedicated members to step up to the plate and offer to serve. Please consider it seriously.  If you are interested in running for a position on the WMLL Board, please contact the Board President.

WMLL Board Overview

Board Composition & Elections: The WMLL Board has 15 elected members. Elected Board members serve 3 year staggered terms, so there are normally 5 slots up for election each year at the Annual Meeting.

Board Meetings: The WMLL Board meets at least monthly throughout the entire year. Due to the breadth of activities the Board must review and consider at each meeting, regular attendance is extremely important to maintain continuity and insure the league runs smoothly each year.

“Working” Board Responsibilities: In addition to participating in monthly Board meetings and assisting at various events throughout the year, every WMLL Board member must assume one or more major duties or responsibilities.  These are all critical positions at WMLL, so new board members must be willing to devote significant time and effort to fulfill these duties

  • Officers include the president, two vice presidents, and treasurer.
  • Other designated positions include registrar, league coordinators for each league, fundraising chair, future planning/capital campaign chair, player recruitment, sponsorships, website maintenance, facilities and grounds, concessions, special events coordinator and fall ball coordinator, among others (see full list HERE).

Softball Oversight: By precedent, 3-4 Board members are responsible for overseeing girls’ softball, and receive assistance from an independent committee composed of parents particularly interested in the softball program.

Officer Elections & Board Assignments: At a re-organizational meeting immediately following the annual meeting, the new Board will elect officers for the coming year.  Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned after discussion and consensus.
