Interested in serving on the WMLL Board Of Directors?

WMLL needs dedicated members to step up to the plate and serve as Board members.

Please consider this important and rewarding responsibility

Board Composition: The 15-member Board of Directors is a “working Board” responsible for managing WMLL’s programs, property and affairs. Board members are elected to 3-year staggered terms during which they devote significant time to WMLL work, especially leading up to and during the season.

Board Responsibilities: All Board members are expected to: (1) regularly attend monthly Board meetings, (2) assist at WMLL events and with occasional league tasks, and (3) serve in one or more leadership positions or coordinator roles for various major activities and functions critical to the smooth function of WMLL – many of which do not require any special knowledge of baseball/softball rules or skills.

These leadership positions include:
  • Board Officers: President, VP-Baseball, VP-Softball and Treasurer
  • Program Coordinators: Baseball & Softball Leagues & Rules, Player & Coach Clinics, Special Events (Brewer’s Game, Mallards Game, HR Derby, etc.), Tournament Teams, and Challenger League
  • Operations & Administration Coordinators: Uniforms & Equipment, Concessions, Building & Grounds, Game & Umpire Scheduling, and Safety & Compliance
  • Marketing, Finance & Membership Coordinators: Player Recruiting & Registration, Volunteer Outreach & Coordination, Fundraising & Sponsorships, Budget Tracking, and Marketing & Communications

Board Elections: Board elections are the last order of business at the Annual Meeting in October. Each candidate is given the opportunity to make a brief statement to the members in attendance before voting takes place via paper ballot.

For consistency, each candidate is asked to include brief responses to the following questions in their comments.
  • Why are you running for the Board and what experience/talent of yours would be an asset to WMLL?
  • What do you feel is the most significant issue facing WMLL?
  • Are you running primarily for a baseball or softball emphasis position on the Board, or both?
  • Is there an area or particular type of responsibility in which you are especially interested and are you willing to accept responsibilities which require a significant time commitment beyond the monthly Board meetings?
