While it is standard practice to assign players into leagues based upon their Little League age, some leagues may also consider parental requests, player skill level & the number of registrants when making league assignments.
Note: If you feel that your child would be better suited for the league above or below their age level, please contact the appropriate League Coordinator or Registrar during registration to request that this be considered.
Baseball Leagues (by Little League age – see reference chart here)
Atlantic League = 7 & 8-year-olds
Pacific League = 9 & 10-year-olds
Major League = 11 & 12-year-olds
Badger League = 13-year-olds & most 14-year-olds
Senior League = 15 & 16-year-olds & any 14-year-olds who are already in High School
Softball Leagues (by Little League age – see reference chart here)
Minor League = 7, 8 & 9-year-olds
Major League = 10, 11 & 12-year-olds
Junior League = 13 & 14-year-olds
Senior League = 15 & 16-year-olds
Big Leagues (not currently active) = 17 & 18-year-olds
Note: Softball is designed to have a Rookie League for 7 & 8-year-olds, a Minor League for 9 & 10-year-olds and a Major League for 11 & 12-year-olds. In recent years, however, registration numbers have not been sufficient to support three leagues for players under 12 years old.
